New Year's Resolution: More Projects + Tidying Up!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

From our CNET feature at International CES to our summer launch of APEX and our latest campaign for IGNITE, 2016 has been a great year for us at ZeroHour! As our team continues to grow, we are able to put more resources into development and production, and make new products available more quickly. We'll never forget our early adopters, and are thankful for your continued support.

Our New Year's Resolution: To make 2017 bigger and better than ever! We plan to introduce not one, not two, but at least three new products next year! Some will continue ZeroHour's mission to bring you the best light and power products for everyday carry, but we also have a couple ideas up our sleeve that will surprise you. Of course, we'll never abandon our commitment to quality products with reliable materials and versatile functionality.

We'll continue to give you our best next year, and wish you a wonderful 2017!

IGNITE PRODUCTION UPDATE

Production is well underway on our newest product, IGNITE, and we are about 75% done with the individual parts. We hope to complete manufacturing within the next two weeks. We then move into the assembly phase, and finally into retail packaging of our assembled product.

We’re currently projecting to start shipping IGNITE at the end of January 2017. We'll also be receiving a new production run of APEX tactical pens, so pre-order yours today!

PHOTOS & VIDEO

After all the parts are machined, they are sent for anodization and finishing, which takes place at an off-site location. We will try to capture footage of this process to present in a future newsletter.

Here is a brief video and current manufacturing photos showing IGNITE parts up close:

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION: TIDY UP!

As you consider your new year's resolutions, we have a recommendation. Marie Kondo has revolutionized personal organization with her KonMari Method, which is simple: Put your items in a pile, category by category - keep only what “sparks joy” - discard the rest. We know how hard it is to take that first step, so we're happy to share a companion guide to help you get it done. John Mullins has completed the entire KonMari Method, and his new book, Your Tidying Up Companion, offers a clear and insightful approach. He's shared the life-changing results with us personally, and we have to agree, the method works!

We've just purchased our copies on Amazon Kindle - download your copy here.

We look forward to sharing more about IGNITE with you soon. See you next year!

Relic XR Flashlight Review by EverydayTacticalVids

The ZeroHour Relic XR is an everyday carry-sized flashlight with some excellent features. Lumens can be set from anywhere between 10 and 1000, there are strobe, beacon (for locating the light), and strobe features. The quality of construction is top-notch and it is weapons mountable. This light (and ZeroHour) are looking to compete with the likes of Surefire and other similar companies. Check it out. -Tim

ZeroHour Relic XR has arrived!

ZeroHour Relic XR has arrived and is now shipping from our warehouse!

  • We have sent over 500 units so far, and we’ll be shipping continuously until we are done.
  • You can begin tracking your shipment over the next few days, and we expect packages to arrive through all of next week. All U.S. Domestic packages will be sent by USPS Priority Mail.
  • International shipping will begin after domestic shipping completes, so hang tight, global backers! We are awaiting more XRs to arrive from overseas, and we still have to complete lengthy customs paperwork, so we are looking at at least a few weeks before we can proceed.
  • Some backers will get their packages before others depending on the when they go out, transit time from Southern California, etc. If you are a U.S. backer and have no tracking number or no movement by July 26th, message us on Kickstarter or contact us at support@zerohourxd.com
  • We’ve worked tirelessly to get Relic XR to you as soon as possible but know we had to revise dates from our original projections, so we’ll better incorporate these learnings into future timing. Thank you for your patience!

THE BEST PRODUCTS FOR OUR BACKERS

Each product went through rigorous testing prior to shipment. This includes Relic XR and all the stretch goal products included for our Kickstarter backers. We really appreciate our earliest adopters, who over the course of two campaigns have brought national attention to our start-up:

The final production version of Relic XR is exactly as we expected it to be, and we are happy to deliver on our promise to create an exceptional product for our backers. We hope your enthusiastic response will help spread the word and keep ZeroHour moving into homes everywhere!

#RELICXR

Now it’s your turn to show us what Team ZeroHour can do. We want to see you in action! Share with us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, and tag your photos #ZEROHOUR #RELICXR. We’ve taken photos of our prototype everywhere, but we're really looking forward to seeing Relic XR in your hands.
We’ll follow up soon with final updates and plans for the future.
Thank you,

Relic XR flashlight and ZH1 charger production nearly complete

We have some good news and photos to share!
Most importantly, Relic XR flashlight and ZH1 charger production will be nearly complete at the end of this week!
We are still on schedule to receive the first batch of flashlights and chargers during the last week of June. We plan to begin sending pre-shipment notification emails starting the week of June 22nd, continuing through the end of the month. As soon as the goods arrive to our warehouse, we will send a backer update to let you know we have started the fullfillment process.
For those who added the Relic BB and/or BB head attachment to your order, we will need an additional week or two to complete those shipments since they will arrive to our warehouse separately.
Our factory express shipped us the very first production version Relic XR flashlight and Relic BB to come off the assembly line!

Anodized Parts and Packaging Designs

In our last update we shared photos of the completed raw aluminum parts, and while it took longer than we expected for full anodizing, here is what they look like now:

We have experienced several small delays these past few weeks - no major setbacks, but enough to push our timeline into June. Working with different manufacturers (for Relic XR, XR accessories, and stretch goal rewards), all with different production schedules and delivery timelines, made this project more of a juggle for us, but we can report that Relic XR flashlight production should be complete the first week of June, while the ZH1 charger and accessories will be completed by the 2nd week of June.
We then need to factor in shipping time from overseas to our warehouse, where we will begin fullfillment. This ultimately pushes our deliveries to the end of June, but we are pushing as hard as we can to accelerate this timeframe. We will be sure to have our packaging fullfillment assembly line ready for the big day when the Relic XR pallets arrive.
